• Say: All stories have certain parts. All stories have a beginning and an end. Can you think of other parts that all stories have? (characters, a place, a time).
Guided Practice
• Guide children through the next three slides, showing them the different parts of a story. Always have the children give an example from a story they like or a story they've read recently in class.Apply
• Have children play the games that follow. Have them discuss with their partner the different topics that appear during the Talk About It feature.• After the first game, ask children to talk about examples of the different kinds of stories and help the children learn more about the kinds of stories they are interested in. After the second game, have them tell a story to a partner or group using a setting and characters from the game.

We can tell stories about things that have happened to us. We can tell stories about things we learn about. We can tell stories about things we imagine.
