In 1997, a husband and wife who called themselves the Floating Neutrinos sailed across the Atlantic Ocean in a raft. They built the raft by hand from plywood, foam, tennis nets, and other junk. It took two months to complete the voyage. They brought some friends and three dogs along for the trip but left their six children safely at home.
