Nowadays people can travel quickly by plane to almost any part of the world. Why do you think people still like to go up in hot-air balloons?
Hot-air balloons cannot be steered. The best way to control the direction of a balloon is to ride jet streams. Jet streams are fast moving winds that blow high above the ground. They usually move from west to east. Jet stream winds can move faster than 150 miles per hour. Balloon pilots go up and down in search of the right wind. Would you like to ride in a hot-air balloon?
