- Create a Cartoon



Explain Review how the setting of a story can impact the plot. Tell students that they will create a cartoon and discuss its plot and setting. Display and discuss sample cartoons beforehand, as needed.
Guided Practice/Practice Have small groups create cartoon strips with 3 or 4 frames. Ask a student from each group to present the cartoon and identify the plot and setting. Then discuss how changing the setting (for example, changing the timeframe to 500 years in the past or 500 years in the future) would affect the plot.
