Students will draw fire escape routes for their own homes.
Description
This Web site presents a number of cartoon characters related to fire safety (Buzzy the smoke detector, Reddy the fire extinguisher, and Squirt the water droplet) to teach kids fire safety in a fun and easy way.
Suggested Activities
• Have students click on the link to the crossword puzzle at the bottom of the page. In completing the crossword puzzle, students will solidify their memory of the fire safety tips.
Level Activities

scroll down to read the interview with Assistand Deputy State Fire Marshal Antiliano Estrella and discuss whether or not they would want to be a firefighter.
read the interview and discuss the challenges of being a firefighter.
read the interview and take turns with a partner reading the interview questions out loud. After one partner reads a question, the other partner should try to remember how the firefighter answered without looking at the web page. Have students see how many of the firefighter's answers they can remember.
