5th Grade Research and Inquiry Resources
Objectives
• Students will use the Internet to research a national park of their choice.
• Students will create a travel brochure for the park.
• Students will share their brochure with a small group, explaining why the park is a good place to visit.
Description
This site is maintained by the United States National Park Service. It is a comprehensive site that provides students with information about all the national parks and monuments.
Suggested Activities
• Students can search for information about a park in their state or a state near them by connecting to http://www.nps.gov/parks.html and clicking on Geographic Search on the left menu bar. They can click on their state to find listings of parks found there. Have them choose one of these local parks to research.
