Explain Tell students that they will describe a bird or insect. Review the importance of using sensory details in descriptions.
Guided Practice/Practice Organize groups and help them choose a bird or insect to describe. Have each group make a poster that lists the bird’s or insect’s characteristics. Display the posters for the class.
