3rd Grade, Research and Inquiry Activities

1. Connect to http://www.nasa.gov/audience/forkids/activities/CS_Our_Star_Our_Sun.html to read about one very important star: the sun.

2. Click on the forward arrow to watch the slideshow. Read the text and look at the pictures. When you want to move on, click on the forward arrow again.

3. When you're done with the slideshow, close the window and then click on the link again. View the slideshow for a second time. This time, look for answers to the following questions. Write your answers in complete sentences on a separate sheet of paper.

(A) Is the sun hot or cold?

(B) Does the sun make bubbles of heat and light during active times or during quiet times?

(C) What is the energy that comes out from the sun called?

(D) What is it called when the sun's wind makes beautiful colors in the sky?
