Explain
• Use the slideshow to review the key concept words.• Explain that students are going to learn about motion:
• Motion is movement.
• There are different kinds of motion and different things that can be in motion.
• We're in motion when we travel, and also when we exercise.
Model
• After the host introduces the slideshow, point to the photo on screen. Ask students: What are the girls in this picture doing? (running, flying a kite, playing outdoors).• Ask students: Why might a person run? (To get somewhere fast, to get exercise). • Say: Running is a kind of motion! Motion happens when you move. Being in motion is good for getting from place to place, and it can also be good exercise. What are some other kinds of motion? (running, jumping, skipping, etc.)
Guided Practice
• Guide students through the next three slides, showing them different types of motion. Always have the students discuss the motion.Apply
• Play the games that follow. Have them discuss with their partner the different topics that appear during the Talk About It feature.• After the first game, ask students to imagine and discuss a vehicle of their own. After the second game, have them talk about their favorite type of motion for exercise.

• Ask students: What is the fastest kind of motion you have experienced?• Summarize for students that motion is movement. There are many different kinds of motion such as walking and jumping. Vehicles in motion helps us to get from one place to another. Encourage them to think about their favorite vehicle in motion.
