Explain
• Use the slideshow to review the key concept words.• Explain that children are going to learn about fantasy and reality:
• A fantasy is something that is not real.
• Reality is something that can happen in real life.
Model
• After the host introduces the slideshow, point to the photo on screen. Ask children: What do you see in this picture? (a horse with wings).• Ask children: Does this picture show something real? Why? (No, because horses don't have wings).
• Say: Today we are going to learn that somethings are real, but other things are make• believe. There are many stories that are make• believe. What is your favorite make• believe story? (answers will vary).
Guided Practice
• Guide children through the next three slides, showing them that there is a difference between real and make• believe. Always have the children discuss make• believe stories that they know.Apply
• Play the games that follow. Have them discuss with their partner the different topics that appear during the Talk About It feature.• After the first game, ask children to talk about how is real life different from fantasy. After the second game, have them discuss opposites.

• Ask children: What are some things you know are fantasy? Explain.• Say: Many things we see every day are fantasy. They are different from what happens in real life. Think about how the things that are make• believe are different than they things that happen to you every day.
