Animal Rescue

Objectives

• Children will use the Internet to do research and inquiry on animal rescue.
• Children will learn more about endangered animals.
• Children will complete an online computer activity by reading about three endangered animals. They will then choose on of these animals and list three ways that people could help save it.

Description

The site is presented by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. It contains information about the governmental measures to protect the environment. It provides information geared for children and activities.

Suggested Activities

• Have children talk about why we should work to save endangered animals.

Level Activities

Have children connect to http://kidsplanet.org/cyw/. Have children then:
Click on the name of an endangered animal on the right. Then have children print out the coloring page and color it.
Read the information on the coloring page.
Write a reason on the back of the page why we should work to save that animal.
