Chris Soentpiet

Chris uses family and friends for models of the characters in his books. He dresses them in realistic costumes and even does their hair before painting them!
Chris's illustrations were rejected by ten publishers before someone finally gave him a chance. Even though he was discouraged, he did not give up on becoming a children's book illustrator.
