6th Grade, Research and Inquiry Activities
2. Adults often volunteer to mentor children. Read Become A Mentor. Then, in the field in the upper left menu bar, click on What You have to Offer to read about what mentors do.
3. Click Support for Mentors then Mentor-Mentee Profiles in the left menu bar. Click the pictures of mentors in the upper right corner of the Web page to read about their experiences.
4. Pretend that the Web site is having a contest for "Mentor of the Year." Think about someone in your life who has acted as a mentor to you. Write a letter to the Web site to nominate your mentor. Describe why you think this person should win the contest. How has this person helped you? Why is this person a good mentor?
