Explain
• Use the slideshow to review the key concept words.• Explain that children are going to learn about family activities:
• How families work together.
• Kinds of activities families do together.
Model
• After the host introduces the slideshow, point to the photo on screen. Ask children: What do you see in this picture? (people eating together)• Ask children: What is the family doing? (eating) Are there few or many people in this family? (many people)
• Say: In this activity we are going to learn about things families do together. Families can have picnics together or go to the movies together. What do you do with your family? (answers will vary).
Guided Practice
• Guide children through the next three slides, showing them that families do different things together. Always have the children describe what the families are doing.Apply
• Play the games that follow. Have them discuss with their partner the different topics that appear during the Talk About It feature.• After the first game, ask children to talk about different types of family activities. After the second game, have them discuss things that are the same and things that are different.

• Ask children: In what ways do you think families are the same? How are they different? Explain.• Say: Families like to do many different things together. Think about some fun things they do. Think about some things that require everyone's help.
