2. Read over the definition of concrete poetry at the top of the page. Click on each poem listed to see examples of concrete poems.

3. After you see how the words in each poem take on the shape of the poem's topic, click on Return to poems to go back to the home page.

4. Notice that some of the concrete poems are set against a background that helps readers to further visualize the subject of the poem. Other times, the background is blank.

5. Write and draw a concrete poem on a topic of your choice.
